Water polishing
What is water polishing?
Water blasting is a surface treatment technique in which a mixture of pure water and blasting media (typically glass beads or aluminum oxide) is applied to compressed air to degrease, clean and refine the surfaces of metal parts. The mixture is sprayed under controlled pressure against the workpiece and removes impurities such as rust, paint, oil, oxide layers, chemical residues, concrete sludge, welding paint on stainless steel and dirt, without damaging or degrading the material underneath.
- Restoration of brake engine components, such as brake calipers, connecting rods, aluminum cylinders, carburetors and much more.
- Surface refinement of stainless steel and light metals
- Precision components where the material must not be deformed
Advantages of water polishing over sandblasting
Gentle treatment
Water polishing is non-destructive and does not remove material, making it ideal for precision parts, antique components, and sensitive materials.
Improved finish
The wet process creates a closed, satin-like surface that is more aesthetically pleasing and easier to keep clean than the rough surface sandblasting leaves behind.
Dust-free and clean process
As the water binds the dust particles, the process is dust-free. This provides a better working environment and reduces the need for extensive safety measures.
Reduced corrosion risk
Sandblasting exposes the metal and can quickly begin to oxidize, especially in humid conditions. Water polishing seals the surface and reduces this risk.
Environmentally friendly and recyclable
Water and abrasive are recirculated in the machine, which reduces waste and makes the process more sustainable.

Aquanife water polishing
Water polishing is a process where water acts as the main component with a specially prepared mixed medium.
The parts are sprayed with this mixture under controlled pressure, and compared to other known methods, this is not aggressive on the surface. No residues of blasting material are embedded in the surface, bearing fits are not affected and the surface appears sealed, dirt-repellent, and is easy to keep clean.
Water polishing with AquaNife equipment is the perfect solution where a semi-gloss surface is required on aluminum, stainless steel, brass, bronze, titanium, magnesium, copper, plastic, rubber and other materials.
Water polishing with AquaNife is the only way to make items look like new. It is indispensable when restoring cars, motorcycles, mechanics.
Water polishing with AquaNife can be used to create a uniform professional satin finish on newly manufactured components.
Water polishing with AquaNife is at the same time very effective and gentle on the components, without removing material from the workpieces.
